Assalaamualaikum wr wb,

Omg my cat is the most amazing animal ever! 😀 And so are all the other cats in the world. My cat is so smart and she understands everything like a human. o_O My mom jokes and says that my cat understands things better than us lol. Also, she’s so welcoming and cuddly.  No kidding. For example, when we first got her, these people tried to cat-nap her because she was so awesome; but my cat actually tricked them bwahaha. Then all the neighbors fell in love with her. When people come near her, she greets them with a rub and sometimes a meow or rolling on the floor. My neighbors all feed her so much in addition to what we feed her so basically she’s a fattie. My neighbors even take the time to ring our doorbell when Kitty is waiting outside for us so she doesn’t have to wait in the cold. That’s how much they love her. Not only that, but we took her to the masjid a couple of times and everyone fell in love with her and they wanted to keep her lol.

So anyways I’m writing this post because today the cutest thing ever happened. So Kitty was sitting on the bed and my brother came. (Kitty loves him so much and all other cats love him too. Even the feral cats! It’s so insane. Every cat that meets him goes straight up to him and they just have this connection. My mom jokes and says that it’s because my brother is a cat lol.) So Kitty got up from the bed and my brother bent down to her level. Then Kitty leaned closer and gave him two kisses!!! Omg it was the cutest thing in the world!!! I just died of happiness right then and there.

Anyways what we can learn from my nonstop blabbering is to treat animals with love and respect. 🙂 In Islam, we are taught to not abuse animals and care for them. There’s this one story where an old pious woman had cats and she used to chain them up because they would pester her. So the cats neither received food nor were they able to catch food themselves. This woman’s destination became Hell Fire because she was unmerciful towards animals. There was another story of an Israeli prostitute who committed many sins. She saw a thirsty dog once who couldn’t get any water because it was in a well. So she used her shoe to get the water and gave it to the dog. Her destination was Heaven. Subhanallah! Think of how much importance is in showing mercy to animals. For they are creatures of Allah (swt), just like us. “There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but they form communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end”(Quran 6:38). And they’re just so cute and innocent! 😀

They don’t commit sins. “Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praise all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise, and Allah knows well all that they do.” (Quran 24:41) All they do is praise Allah (swt)!  I could hear the chirping of birds outside. I see the squirrels jumping around. I see the cats lying down lazily in the sun. I (really can’t) see the insects buzzing around. These are all creations of Allah (swt) who are doing their own form of praising Allah. Subhanallah!

If you’re like me and you just will do anything and even sacrifice yourself for an animal, then Islam is perfect for you lol. Doesn’t this just make you want to cry?: It is related from AbdulRahman bin Abdullah that a group of Companions were once on a journey with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he left them for a while. During his absence, they saw a bird with its two young, and they took the young ones from the nest. The mother bird was circling above in the air, beating its wings in grief, when the Prophet came back. He said, “Who has hurt the feelings of this bird by taking its young? Return them to her.” (Muslim) Animals are the best! Treat them with respect. Not only that but treating them with compassion gives you more good deeds on your scale for the ultimate test. 🙂

If both our Lord and our dear Prophet (saw) show infinite love and compassion to animals, shouldn’t we do so too?

Aaaannnnnnnnnnnnndddddddd they’re sooooooooooooooo cuteeeeeeeeee!!! 😀

Assalaamualaikum wr wb,

The hadith above is trying to teach us that when we are afflicted with hardships, Allah (swt) is only testing us so that we may benefit. When people suffer, in the end they always come out stronger and wiser. Allah (swt) tested all the prophets with so many hardships yet they still had faith and patience to endure through these hardships. For example, Prophet Yunus (as) was stuck in the belly of a whale, Prophet Yusuf (as) was afflicted with jealousy from his brothers, Prophet Ayyub (as) with sickness, and even our dearest Prophet Muhammad had so many trials throughout his life. But still their faith was strongest at these times and they didn’t stop praying to Allah (swt). They didn’t stop asking for forgiveness and appreciating what they had. Surely Allah (swt) only tested them because He loves them. We should follow the prophets’ examples and endure through hardships with patience and our faith should never waver. In fact, our faith should be strongest at these times. It will be difficult at these times, but think how pleased Allah (swt) will be with you when you endure with patience and strong faith. Not only that, but remember that after hardship, comes ease. Also, Allah (swt) does not give us trials that we can not bear. And always smileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! 😀

Assalamualaikum wr wb,

Well I’m going to copy and paste the Final Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (saw). The link is: http://www.iqrasense.com/about-islam/the-last-sermon-khutbah-of-prophet-muhammad-farewell-sermon.html They really explain it well. It’s so cool to know that even after so many years, we are still reading his sermon. Mashallah! 😀 Before when I was younger I thought it was pretty cool but now that I understand it more, I’m like Oh my Allah, this is soooo amazingg!!! Anyways here is the link, they first talk about the sermon and then actually say it:

Shortly before his death, Prophet Muhammad delivered a sermon during theHajj, which came to be known as his “Final Sermon”.  This final sermon was not only a reminder to his followers, but also an important admonition.  The final sermon confirms the end of his Prophetic Mission.

Year 10 A.H.  of the Islamic Calendar is considered to be one of the most significant years for three reasons.  Firstly, this was the year when the Prophet delivered his Last Sermon during his farewell pilgrimage to Mecca.  Secondly, this was the year where number of deputations came to the Prophet to announce their Islam as well as their tribes.  Thirdly, it was the golden period of Islam when multitudes of people embraced the faith by accepting the message of the Prophet.

Prophet Muhammad undertook his farewell pilgrimage in the year 10 A.H.  His farewell pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the most significant historical events in the minds of Muslims, for it was the first and last pilgrimage made by Prophet Muhammad, as well as being the model for performing the fifth pillar of Islam, theHajj.

Prophet Muhammad’s final sermon was delivered during the Hajj of the year 632 C.E., the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month of the lunar year, at Arafat, the most blessed day of the year.  There were countless Muslims present with the Prophet during his last pilgrimage when he delivered his last Sermon.

The Final Sermon:

After praising, and thanking God, the Prophet, may God send His praises upon him said:

“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again.  Therefore, listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust.  Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners.  Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.  Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds.  God has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived.  Your capital, however, is yours to keep.  You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.  God has Judged that there shall be no interest, and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn Abd’al Muttalib shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion.  He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you.  Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under a trust from God and with His permission.  If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness.  Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers.  And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God, perform your five daily prayers, fast during the month of Ramadan, and offer Zakat.  Perform Hajj if you have the means.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve.  An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; white has no superiority over black, nor does a black have any superiority over white; [none have superiority over another] except by piety and good action.  Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood.  Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly.  Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before God and answer for your deeds.  So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me, and no new faith will be born.  Reason well, therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you.  I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah, and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and it may be that the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly.  Be my witness, O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people.”

Thus the beloved Prophet completed his Final Sermon, and upon it, near the summit of Arafat, the revelation came down:

“…This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My Grace upon you, and have chosen Islam for you as your religion…” (Quran 5:3)

Even today the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad is passed to every Muslim in every corner of the word through all possible means of communication.  Muslims are reminded about it in mosques and in lectures.  Indeed the meanings found in this sermon are indeed astounding, touching upon some of the most important rights God has over humanity, and humanity has over each other.  Though the Prophet’s soul has left this world, his words are still living in our hearts.

Assalaamualaikum wr wb,

Hey everyone! I’d like to tell all the Muslims here that April Fools is haram, meaning not allowed/prohibited in Islam. Why? Well I’d be a good blogger if I explained it all but I’m pretty sure you can find out yourselves. Sorry I’m busy… But I’ll give you a few general reasons why it’s haram:

Wahid: The origins of April Fools. The Non-Muslims fooled the Muslims bad, I mean real bad. In a very unjust way.

Ithnan: Muhammad (saw) said that you shouldn’t lie and you shouldn’t fool or trick each other either because that’s also bad. You get it?

Thalatha: You would be imitating the Non-Muslims and on the Day of Judgment, you will be among the ones you imitate. (I forget which ayah that is, sorry again! I know I’m horrible.)

I’m pretty sure that’s all the reasons to it but you can learn and find out more on this magic thing called a computer…

Sorry if I offended anyone, seriously didn’t mean to. I know sometimes there are things that a lot of grown ups take offensively when we kids don’t even understand why they would take it offensively. But I’m just saying I’m only a child, so don’t go hating.

Here’s a site that did a good job on explaining. Check out the post: http://islamgreatreligion.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/who-is-fooling-who-april-fool-day/

So hope you benefit from all this.

Jazakallahu khayran! 😀

Assalaamualaikum wr wb sisters,

Oh, I am so on a roll today, posting like 3x or something. Anyways, to prove that innovation is wrong in Islam, here you go:

Aisha narrated that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: ‘If somebody innovates something which is not present in our religion, then that thing will be rejected.’

Related by Bukhari.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 1885     Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

That the Prophet of Allah (saws) said in a sermon:  “The best speech is that which is embodied in the Book of Allah, the Al Quran;  and the best guidance is the guidance given by me, Mohamed (saws).   The most evil affairs are the innovations (bida), and every innovation (bida) is an error.”

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4515  Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib

Jazakallahu khayran. 🙂 I got that from islamhelpline.com BTW.
